Back Bay Mission is accepting contributions for furnishing the new buildings – the Volunteer Center and the Micah Day Center -- that are part of its campus’ recovery from Hurricane Katrina. To donate to one of the buildings' furnishings, please click on either of the links below.
The Volunteer Center will house volunteers who come from across the nation to assist in the Mission’s Housing Recovery program and assume other volunteer duties within the organization. It is a dormitory-style building that offers sleeping arrangements, a cooking and dining area and space for relaxation and fellowship.
The Micah Center is a multi-purpose building that will offer daytime services for the homeless, e.g., mail boxes; access to telephones and computers to assist in job searches; showers; laundry equipment; and clothing, as well as public meeting space for the community.
Gifts of $1,000 or more that are received toward items on the list of furnishings for the buildings, for specific or complete rooms, will be acknowledged permanently in the facility. Some suggested reasons for giving: to memorialize a loved one; to honor a person or persons; to recognize a momentous occasion or special experience; to give thanks for Back Bay Mission and its work, both in the local community and the wider church.
To discuss a payment schedule for large gifts, please contact Director of Development Maria Watson. Payment may be made online by credit card, PayPal or by check sent directly to Back Bay Mission. Please notate the gift’s designation.
The buildings will be dedicated during the October Celebration. |
